Neera's Journal  Being at home all alone.... there is so much i can do :P But instead... i sit in front of my computer watching TV (or playing RockBand until my hands fall off) Here are the shows I will be reviewing: American Idol Lie To Me The Mentalist I give each show a ♥ for how much I like it. It's not out of any amount of ♥ but its you can compare it to other shows. American Idol Synopsis: A show where you go to be a star! (a singing star) random people off the street audition in front of 4 judges (Randy, Paula, Kara, and Simon) And then when they chose the best 36 America gets to vote who will be the next American Idol... Yay! new judge! i like Kara she's good and nice and accurate. I think they should get rid of Paula now.... she's weird... and like... bad at talking... if you just watch one of her comment of a contestant.. you'll know what i mean. The singers this year.... suck!!! seriously! I watched a total of 6 people. I liked two. (we will get to who i liked) Seriously? How can people get to the top 36 and be totally sucky? One girl named Stevie was 17 and she sang to quietly and to off pitch and just badddddd. Thank goddness she didn't make it. But I don't even see how she made it to the top 36 in the first place! How can so many people's voice be so bad.. in MY opinion! I mean... I'm no singer... and I can't really tell if your good or not. So if I think you suck... you suck. Finally... out of the 6 people I saw... I like two... one blonde girl (whose name i forgot but she made it into the final 12) and... the indian guy. No surprise there right? I don't want to compare him to Sanjaya Malakar... but he's way better than Sanjaya Malakar. And Sanjaya made it to the top 6! So what happened to Anoop Desai! You guys HAVE to hear him sing... he's amazing. When i first saw him..(which was this day) I was like... oo indian guy! i wonder if he sounds indian! But then he sang... and my jaw dropped to the floor. No joke. I couldn't believe it! http://www.rickey.org/?p=11028 check it out This season gets ♥ (mostly b/c of anoop getting voted out) Lie To Me synopsis: A guy spends 20 years studying what people do when they lie. Now he talks to people and can tell when they are lying. Its an interesting show. I recommend you check it out, but maybe not add it to your TiVo list. Maybe I'm just interested in science, but I like the angle the TV show comes from. The main character is old, ugly, and has a daughter.... which means you can't go very far with a character like him. But you can go very far with the science. The show kinda reminds me of House... except not with medical challenges. One more thing... it seems I'm always one step ahead of the characters. One time I was even 2 steps ahead. For example, the mother of a girl who died didn't have any forehead movement, which could be a sign that she doesn't grieve her daughter. At that point i thought, she must have used Botox. Then the main character blew out a light bulb to see her reaction of surprise, and her forehead still didn't move. He suggested that she probably uses Botox. The one time I was two steps ahead was a lucky guess because I had watched an episode of House where almost the same thing happened. Basically, this is a show about a doctor who solves medical mysteries.. err, i mean solves crime mysteries. This show gets ♥♥ The Mentalist synopsis: A show about a guy who can get under your head. REAL synopsis: A show about a guy who looks cute in front of the camera but doesn't really do anything. Seriously, he does nothing. The police does all the work. He just tags along and smiles a lot. Don't get me wrong... the show is quite interesting.... its just that the main character shouldn't really be the main character. My dad and I both agree that they just put him in front of the camera to look good. Basically, he just sits there and at the very end when they find out who actually committed crime he makes them confess... sneakily. For example, in the one episode I watched. This woman killed 2 people. When they found out it was her, he told the police to arrest this guy whose son was one of the victims. The Mentalist guy told the murderer that the kid would have to be placed in foster care and staged a scene where the father was torn away from his son. The murderer couldn't stand seeing the kid like that and confessed. If that was the most interesting part of the episode... I would say kudos pretty boy! But the police work was much more interesting than his little mental game, which is why I don't like this show as much as I should. This show gets ♥ I think I'm starting to get the hang of English! (no not the language) So, for those of you who don't know, I suck at english/lit blah. I started out the class with an F. I was sad, I think she pushed my grade up to a D- on my progress report because I was very close and she pitied me. Then one day in class, we had a "free" class where we didn't do anything in particular and she would talk to us one-on-one. So I grabbed all my essays (which ranged from Ds-Fs) and talked to her. She cleared up a lot of things (like how wrong I am at interpreting essays) and then she allowed the class to make up an essay if they got below a C- (I got a 61). I got a new "full" score (yay a 70!) which helped my grade a little bit. with that and another essay my grade is now a 66.7% which means I'm on my way to a C! I know this sounds bad.... but I'm improving and that's what counts. Hopefully I will get at least a B by the semester. Basically, I understand what my teacher (and the AP exam) wants from me and I'm going for it!!! So first we had Vijaydasami (my last one probably depending on where i go to college) and we did Pushpanjali + Natesa Kautvam. My parents came late and didn't get to see me dance, but i don't really care. I was and still am kinda sick so i took a nap. Then i went to a Garba thingy with my dance friends. It was pretty fun. Megha brought her boyfriend (who is white) so it was fun watching him trying to blend in. I also saw Shaanika there too but I didn't talk to her very much because I didn't want to lose my group. I learned how to do a new dance (yes i am horrible at it) and then we did Dandia for like two seconds. That was also kinda fun, and i also sucked at it. Maybe if they have an Indo-Pak team i'll try out this year. So I started watching a show called Chuck on NBC. Its pretty funny/action packed/funny. Its on Mondays at 8 but i'm probably going to continue watching it online. Office season 5 looks promising! Jan's gonna have the baby, Jim and Pam are getting married, the Andy, Angela, Dwight triangle is getting intense (but we all know Dwight and Angela were meant to be), and Holly is still trying to find her place at the office. I can't wait for next week! It all started with orchestra. Aaron Godwin was being REAALLLY annoying and inappropriate, and Lauren-Michelle wanted me to smack Aaron over the head. I'm not really a smacky girl, more of a punching one, so when Mr. Burn isn't doing much, I ask him "Mr. Burn, can I have permission to punch Aaron in the face?" I try not to smile to show I'm serious but the whole orchestra heard me and they all went "Oooooooo!" IT WAS GREAT! I had never felt so ALIVE! When Aaron asked what he had done wrong, I told him everything he said I would NEVER say out loud. Then, when Mr. Burn wasn't looking, I did something I never thought I would do. I flipped Aaron off. Can you believe I did that?!?! And he didn't talk to me for the rest of the day!!!!! I had never been happier in my life! I also think I made it clear to Mr. Burn that I dislike Aaron, too. It all ended with Peer Tutorial. So it was the last day of the Wilson-Brown Peer Tutorial. See, ever since Ms. Choy left, they had to hire a new person so Mr. Wilson and Mr. Brown were subbing. Today was the last day and I when I was saying they should give use chocolate, I thought, he WE should be giving THEM a card thanking them for all their work! So I took two pieces of printer paper from the library and wrote Thank You Mr. Wilson on one and Thank You Mr. Brown on the other. I had people sign the cards secretly with out the teachers knowing. We had a good artist tutor who could have drawn a nice picture on the front, but he was very popular at the table he was at and everyone at the table would have been too into the card and Mr. Wilson would have noticed. I decided that I would just draw two flowers on each card and color them in. Soon after, Robert (my tutee), and Sophomore (Real name: Allan) and I went to Mr. Wilson and Mr. Brown and gave them the cards and THEY ACTUALLY LIKED THEM! I was sooooo surprised! When we personally said thank you they said "These cards were what made it worth it" I was really happy they said that and Mr. Brown even gave me a hug! If you can't tell, I feel really good about the events that happened today. I'm glad I made all the decisions I made today. So I make some user pics today (instead of doing Bio homework) so I guess I can use these instead of the default one (that I also changed). So I hope you all enjoy. I'm suffering from a baaaad cold that sucks! Hopefully I will be well tomorrow because if I'm not I'm screwed. I feel very yucky. Yesterday's storm was really bad! My lights flickered for half a second and the phones went "ding!" It looked all nice this morning but now its storming again. Sigh. Today I watched Hairspray. Not a bad movie. Not to mention Zac Efron! That guy makes me want to melt. Well, his eyes do anyway. heehee. It was a lot better than I thought it would be and I got to watch part of it twice. I enjoyed the last song of the movie. I don't know what it's called though. I also volunteered for CSF at the Children's Discovery Museum and probably got 100 kids sick. I helped make stick puppets and tissue paper flowers. It was all good until the cold medicine gave out on me. I ended up eating soup for lunch and dinner. I'm surprised my parents aren't starving of hunger because they aren't sick but they still have to eat the soup. Tomorrow is also the first day of dance class for the year and I haven't really practiced. I should probably do that. I'm waking up early tomorrow anyway to do the Bio homework. My sister leaves tomorrow :'( It's going to be sad to see her go after the 3 weeks we spent together. The last 2 days being sick. I suppose I should work on my Bio homework now, eh? I'm getting my Wisdom Teeth pulled out on February 18th which is the Winter Break week thing so I can't do anything that week. Tsk. Ohh well, I didn't plan anything for that week. I was supposed to get them out last year but I didn't because I didn't have enough insurance coverage or whatever. It's during my "month of relaxation" anyway so it's all good. I just can't wait until January is over because of Finals and SATs. GARRRR! Yeah! So New Year=New Stuff to do?? THINGS I'M DOING THIS YEAR: Jan 14-17: Finals Jan 26: SAT I (first time yikes!) Feb: Relaxing after taking finals and SAT Mar 4: My b-day! Party TBA May: Bio AP exam (possibly SAT I again) Jun: Finals, SAT II in Bio and Math Jul: Arangetram Practice like HELL! Aug: Arangetram Practice beyond HELL! Sept 13: ARANGETRAM!!!!! All of you are invited Oct: College Apps Oct 31: Halloween w/ Christina (Hopefully not so late this time) Nov: Relaxation from College Apps Dec: Nothing (Hey! I'll be a senior okay!) Yes I know I'll be busy this year but 2009 is going to ROCK! Only 4 more days until school starts! Better get started on that Bio Winter Assignment! Current mood:  cheerful.
Yes, it is that time of the year! The end of the year. And I'm spending it doing SAT prep. ewww... anyway, so I got cool gifts. I got POTC 2 and my sister got the Office seasons 1 and 2. I love season 2. So as we are speaking, I'm uploading a video onto Youtube. Yes, Youtube. I made an account this morning because I'm starting to get into movie making. I'm not all that great, actually I really suck. But if you want to check them out, look up Ashwin's Hands (Ashwin, Hand are the tags) and my user name is violagrl34. Surprised?? hahaha. Wow, I never knew how long it took to upload videos onto Youtube. So I saw Juno in theatres. It is pretty good. It seemed like it was going for an Academy Award but I doubt it will win one. It was still pretty good though. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a movie. I REALLY wanted to see National Treasure Book of Secrets but I went out with my friends and they did not want to see that movie. We had a sleepover and we watched HP 5 until 2 in the morning. I have not watched POTC 2 on DVD yet. I have not even opened it yet actually. I might return it because it is just the 1 disc and not the 2 disc edition. I don't know. I hope you are all having a fantastic break! So Brenden and Paulina, who are really good (3rd and 4th chair) first violins are switching to viola which means I'm not going to be first chair anymore. It's rather pathetic because being first chair I should be really good when I probably suck worse than most 2nd violins. Tis pretty upsetting also adding up that Jessica and I got a divorce today. I was trying to act really sad but I wasn't that upset because I knew it was coming as we have many differences. Ohh well, I don't think I need a new wife since I've already had 2 wives and 6 children. I get custody of all the children from this marriage because the only child Jessica accepted was Rubia the rubick's cube. Definitely a bad day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. So Mihir is here today! I don't know exactly how he is related to me, some sort of cousin. Anyway, he is really awesome and he has facebook but he doesn't know how to use it so I have to teach him. Band people are leaving tomorrow to go to Disneyland. I'm sooooooo jealous. I want to go to Disneyland! Hmph. Current mood:  drained.
Yeah, so this year I discovered I have a love life. Surprising? Yes. No, its not Tom Welling. I USED to like him but I don't anymore because Smallville is getting stupider and I found I don't bother watching it any more. I don't even have season 6 on some form of DVD because i really don't care that much even if Tom Welling looks incredibly hot on the cover. Hm... It's been so long since I've used livejournal I don't even know who I'm friends with anymore here. I know I'm friends with Ruby who may or may not be reading this, and I think Susan and Rebecca, too. So anyway, his name is John Krasinski and you can find him in the little picture I put up instead of Tom Welling :D He plays Jim Halpert on the Office, which is my new favorite TV show. It's a comedy about these people working in an office off a British TV show also called the Office. Anyway, he is really good looking no matter what Adi says. She told me she didn't think he was that good looking and, while trying to convince her he is, I found out he was Jewish. So now I think I'm destined to marry a Jewish person because when I was in elementary school I always hung out with Jewish people until they moved to Israel. More recently, I was talking to Susan on AIM when she noticed the icon I have which also features Jim. She thought Jim looked like Ben. This was somewhat surprising to me, but not all that surprising as their both Jewish. (Not trying to be racist) So now I'm all confused about Tom Welling, John Krasinski, and Ben. Hm... Ohh, Jessica and I had twins. I am bringing them to school tomorrow. Caroline and Jack. I think I'll bring them and Rubia to school, but Ben is too big and he has two small holes in him. Plus Jessica rejected him. So now I'm confused about Tom Welling, John Krasinski, Ben, and Jessica... Yeah, so my love life is twisted, and it only started a year ago. Current mood:  confused.
